We had an awesome night on the red carpet celebrating my church’s 20 Year Anniversary.  I am so proud of my parents for staying committed to the vision that was given to them, and I’m even more proud and grateful to all of New Life’s members, friends, and partners in ministry.

This was truly a grand event, complete with a VIP reception, red carpet walk, and a beautifully decorated ballroom.  We honored the LifeGiver of the Year for ministry volunteers, as well as the Lifetime Award for the ministry’s oldest member.  We also took a special moment to honor those members who have passed with a candle lighting ceremony.  The entertainment for the night started with a special presentation of “The Soul of Motown,” with hilarious reenactments of The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Dianna Ross & The Supremes, & Don Cornelius.

During dinner we were comforted by the soothing sounds of jazz musician Eric Essix and his band, and shared moments of laughter with comedian Sir Walt.  Pastor Matthews told us about the history of the ministry and reiterated the direction and vision for the future of the ministry.  The night was completed by cash & electronics giveaways and a toast to 20 years of ministry as the clock struck 12:00 AM….of course people hit the dance floor shortly after!
