Faces of Lupus Gala 2014

I had a great time working with Tonda Thomas of Platinum Design & Eventz for her 2nd Annual Platinum Faces of Lupus Gala.  The event was held at the Aloft Hotel in Birmingham’s Soho Square.  I always enjoy working with people who are doing things to better our community and this event serves to raise awareness of the chronic autoimmune disease Lupus.  The gala’s speakers, all women who are surviving with Lupus, were very informative and gave a true depiction of the strength and courage it takes to live with this disorder.

I was taken back by the stories of painful symptoms, sleepless nights, and fatigue, but when I looked around the room, I was uplifted by the many compassionate supporters, friends, and family members who attended the event.  Here are few photos from the gala.  The full gallery of photos can be found at my client site:  www.oscarmatthewsphotography.com.
